[00:00:08] What's happening in Gillette? Next week on September 15th is a Gillette City Council meeting.
[00:00:14] Before we get to the agenda, let's take a look at some other City of Gillette happenings in the next week or two.
[00:00:20] Do you know what all you'll be voting on when the general election comes around in November?
[00:00:25] Do you know who all the candidates are, including the ones for boards that weren't included in the primary, like the school, cemetery and hospital boards? Well, don't worry about it if you don't, because there will also be another round of League of Women Voters forms to help you decide on Tuesday, September 29th. The forms will feature candidates for mayor, all three city council wards, the school board and the Gillette College Board. The next night, Wednesday the 30th, we'll have county commissioners, Cemetery Board, Hospital board and proponents and opponents of the optional 1% sales tax and property tax.

[00:01:56] Here's what's on the September 15th City Council Agenda 2 Special Event Permits this time for the homecoming parades of Campbell county and Thunder basin high schools.
[00:02:07] TBHS's parade will be on September 21st at 4:30pm and they'll make a big loop that'll close Sinclair Street, Enzy Drive, College Drive, Slate street and Kristenick Avenue. CCHS's parade will be on September 23rd at 4:30 and close Gillette Avenue.
[00:02:27] Council will consider directing the interim police chief to sign the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Officer contract.
[00:02:34] This is an agreement with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation to assign a Gillette police officer to the task force and then the position's pay and benefits will be supported by state funds.
[00:02:46] There's also a resolution before the council to adopt a travel and expense reimbursement policy for elected officials.
[00:02:53] Sometimes our elected officials go to conferences and trainings in places outside the city and the policy just sets out what expenses for that are covered and how.
[00:03:02] For example, if flights are required, the city will only reimburse for economy or coach tickets, not first class. And the preferred method of ground transportation is by city pool vehicle, by which I mean a vehicle from the city fleet of vehicles, not a vehicle for use in the city pool.
[00:03:23] From the City Planning Commission, we have a couple of items There are two ordinances to partially vacate access and general utility easements around Walmart, one that runs north to south along the building and then curves west to wrap around it, and the other near the grocery entrance.
[00:03:40] Neither easement actually had any utilities underneath them.
[00:03:45] The other planning item is for an amendment to the district zoning map changing lot two of the Chara Hills Estates subdivision from RS Suburban Residential to CO Office and Institutional.
