[00:00:01] Hey, let's talk Gillette.
[00:00:08] What's happening in Gillette next week on November 3rd is a Gillette City Council meeting. Before we get to the agenda, let's take a look at some other City of Gillette happenings in the next week or two. Also on November 3rd is election night coverage. Since November 3rd is election day, Election night coverage will begin at either 8 o' clock or right after the City Council meeting ends. Whichever of those happens. Second, it'll probably be at 8 since there isn't too much on the City Council agenda.
[00:00:38] Obviously, since November 3rd is election day, you still have time to inform yourself about what you'll be voting on, and there are a couple of things to help you do just that. There's the League of Women Voters forums, which are all available
[email protected] GPA if you want to learn about the candidates and their positions on the issues. If you want to learn more about the optional 1% sales tax and how it's used, check out informgillette.com if you've tried to view GPA channel 192 on cable recently, you may have noticed that we're having some technical issues with it. Spectrum is aware of the issue and they're working on it, but it may be a while before channel 192 is back to normal. Unfortunately, channel 192 is also where we put the really important stuff like say, government meetings and election night coverage. So in the meantime, those things will also be live on channel 190.
[00:01:34] You can also watch channel 192 or 189 or 190 online at any time by visiting gillettewy.gov GPA the City of Gillette is working on the creation of a unified development code which essentially takes our existing engineering codes, city codes and zoning codes, updates them and puts them all in one place to make things easier to understand and follow for citizens and developers.
[00:02:01] Part of the process for that is an open house on Wednesday, November 4th from 5 to 7pm at the Campbell County Rec Center. The object of the open house is to gather public input on the process, so you should attend to make your voice heard. There's also a project website with more information which I have linked to in the description. Wednesday, November 11th is Veterans Day. City offices will be closed on the 11th, but your regular trash day won't change, so still have your rollout to the curb by 7am The Veterans Day parade will go down 2nd street and starts at 1p, but if you miss it, you can watch the recorded parade later in the day in the Channel 190 archive at gillettewy.gov GPA under Special Events or it will also play on GPA Cable Channel 190 at 4pm 6pm, 9pm and 11pm here's what's on the November 3rd City Council agenda Not too much on the agenda this time.
[00:02:57] There's just one optional 1% sales tax supported a professional services agreement for the South Windland Drive surfacing project.
[00:03:05] One planning item when council considers a resolution approving and authorizing the final plat of Lots 13A, 14A and 15A Block 2 Pronghorn Ranch Phase 1 and there will be a second reading of the ordinance to amend Chapter 5 of the City code, the one about when engineering plans are required for building projects.
[00:03:27] That's a brief look at the November 3rd meeting. You can find the agenda on the city website gillettewy.gov and click on any item in the agenda to get a deeper explanation of the topic and see any supporting documentation. Sign up to receive meeting notices by clicking on the Email Updates link in the description of this episode. City Council meetings are broadcast live on GPA TV cable channel 192, as well as streaming
