[00:00:01] Speaker A: Hey, let's talk Gillette.
[00:00:07] Speaker B: What's happening in Gillette next week on April 7th is a Gillette City Council meeting. Before we get to the agenda, let's take a look at some other City of Gillette happenings in the next week or two. The city council will be hosting their first budget workshop on Tuesday, April 14th at 6pm in the council Chambers to review agency funding requests. This meeting is open to the public or you can view it on Cable Channel 192. It will also be streamed live at www.gillettewy.gov GPA. Residents of RC Ranch subdivision are invited to attend a public meeting on Thursday, April 16 from 5:30 to 7pm at the Campbell County Public Library in the Wyoming Room about the Shoshone Avenue beautification project scheduled for the upcoming construction season. The purpose of the meeting is to share general details, anticipated construction timelines, traffic impacts and what residents can expect during the work. Members of the project team will be available to address questions and gather feedback from the community.
It's spring now and soon it'll be summer. And if you've got a yard, you know what that means. Yard work, mowing, gardening, picking up sticks from trees, all of that. And what do you do with all the results? You can bring them to the yard waste facility out at Wastewater on Gardner Lake Road, or if you want, you can up for the Curbside Yard Waste Program. The Curbside Yard Waste program costs $9.60 a month added to your utility bill and you can sign up by calling 307-686-5206. When you do, you'll get a tan yard waste rollout that you can fill with grass clippings, leaves and sticks and branches less than 2 inches in diameter and less than 36 inches in length. Then on your regular trash day, the rollout will be collected and your yard waste will be taken to our yard was facility.
Here's what's on the April 7th city council agenda. The Council will consider a special event permit for the Campbell County Public Library for a Skate Jam Expo happening on June 18 from 2:30 to 5pm the good news is no roads will be closed to traffic for this event. The upcoming council agenda includes two new items, both made necessary by Wyoming State Statute 124 502.
This statute requires an applicant for a liquor permit whose licensed premises are outside the jurisdiction where the event is taking place to obtain written approval from the licensing authority of the jurisdiction where the premises are located before filing the application. The first item is council consideration of a request from Lakeside Partners LLC doing business as Lakeside Liquor and Lounge to utilize their retail liquor license to apply for for a catering permit in Hewlett for an event scheduled for April 30th. This is followed by Council consideration of a request from Gillette Entertainment LLC doing business as Sundance Lounge to utilize their retail liquor license to apply for a 24 hour alcoholic beverage sales permit in Narvada on April 25th.
An appointment of an official voting delegate and alternate voting delegate for the 2026 WHAM Summer Convention will be considered. Council will consider acceptance of two improvement projects, the first one being for the Gillette Regional Water Supply Project Phase six and the acceptance for the Boxelder Lift Station Improvement Project.
The agenda includes three optional 1% supported projects. The first two are bid awards, one for the Antelope Valley Playground Renovations project and another for the Spruce and Kluver surfacing project.
The third 1% item is amendment number one for construction management services related to the Overdale Drive and Oregon Avenue Mill and Overlay project. And finally, there will be a public hearing and Council consideration of transfer of ownership of retail liquor license from AB Gillette Wyoming LLC doing business as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar to Powder River Hospitality llc, doing business as Cowboy State Liquor and Saddle Up Bar and Grill and transfer of location of said license.
