[00:00:01] Hey, let's talk Gillette.
[00:00:08] What's happening in Gillette next week on February 3rd is a Gillette City Council meeting.
[00:00:14] Before we get to the agenda, let's take a look at some other City of Gillette happenings in the next week or two.
[00:00:20] The optional 1% sales tax is going to be on the ballot this November.
[00:00:24] If you have questions about it or just want to make sure you understand what you'll be voting on, you can visit the newly repurposed Inform Gillette to find information and statistics about the optional 1% sales tax and how it's used.
[00:00:39] Here's what's on the February 3rd city council agenda.
[00:00:44] It seems early for this, but that's how it goes sometimes. There will be a parade permit for the 4th of July parade which will close second straight from Osbourne to Burma, then from Burma to first, then down first back to Osborne on of course July 4th it gives the whole loop as the parade route in the agenda. But I I think everything except for the second street parts might actually be for staging. There's a professional services agreement, a bid award and an acceptance all for projects supported by the optional 1% sales tax. The professional services agreement is for design and bidding services for the RC Ranch North Mill and overlay project, the bid award is for the Overdale Drive and Oregon Avenue Mill and Overlay project and the acceptance is for the Fox Park Monitoring Building project which installed a new building near Highway 51 and Fox Park Road to track how much water flows through the 30 inch Madison line, monitor water quality and better manage water shutdowns.
[00:01:42] Council will also accept public improvements for 95 Skyline Drive. 95 Skyline Drive is where the new scooters is and the improvements for the council to accept are their additions to the water and sewer mains and the fire hydrant. The city had a Fleet operations assessment performed about the state and management of the City's vehicles. The Council will receive and accept the results of that study at this meeting.
[00:02:08] When people are arrested for municipal crimes in the City of Gillette, they go to the Campbell County Detention center since the city doesn't operate its own jail facility. And when they're in jail for municipal crimes, the city pays for their stay as per the jail services contract between the city and Campbell County. Since 2012, the rate has been $125 a day, but council will vote on a new contract, one that will increase the rate to $150 per day.
[00:02:37] Two planning items one is for resubdivision of Lot 3, Block 2 of West Valley subdivision into Lot 3A and 3B.
[00:02:47] This would split the building there into what is technically a condominium or two condominiums. I don't know exactly how that works. I guess I always think of condos as homes. But Lot 3, Block 2, West Valley Subdivision or 1501 West 2nd street is not a home but Dawn Supermarket. The other planning item is a minor subdivision plat of Legacy Ridge Phase 5.
[00:03:13] This is for some apartment buildings on Tanner Drive to isolate one existing building from the unbuilt additional buildings for financial reasons. That's a brief look at the February 3rd meeting.
